When chatting online
Keep your personal information private
Avoid sharing your phone number, social media accounts, home address or workplace until you’ve built trust with someone. If someone tries to move the conversation off Muzz very early on, this could be a red flag.
Stay on Muzz until you feel comfortable
Keeping your conversations on Muzz helps protect your privacy and allows you to use our safety features, including blocking and reporting, if needed.
Check for verification badges
A blue tick on a white background means a member has completed our selfie verification process, helping us confirm they’re a real person. Some members may also have a white tick on a blue background, indicating that they’ve completed ID verification.
Trust your instincts
If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. You can block or report anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable, and our team will review the situation.
When meeting in person
Meet in a public place
Choose a busy, well-lit public location for your first meeting.
Let someone know your plans
Tell a trusted friend or family member where you’re going, who you’re meeting and when you expect to be back.
Arrange your own transport
Travel independently so you’re in control of how you arrive and leave.
Take your time
There’s no pressure to meet in person. Only arrange a meeting when you feel comfortable, confident and ready.
If something goes wrong
If someone behaves inappropriately, asks you for money, pressures you to share personal information or makes you feel unsafe, please report them through the app as soon as possible. Our team takes reports seriously and will investigate.
We want Muzz to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone looking for marriage the halal way. By looking out for ourselves and one another, we can all help keep our community safe.
