Lead Marketing Specialist – India
India (Fully remote)
INR 12 - 14 lakhs annually + equity

We’re looking for an ambitious marketer who is fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi to lead our India marketing team, and take us to the next level in India.
What we're looking for
- This role is perfect for someone who’s had 6+ years of marketing experience at a startup or fast-paced consumer business in India
- An experienced marketing leader – someone used to managing a team and guiding them to make the most of marketing activities
- Ideally you have a strong understanding of Muslim cultures and what challenges/opportunities there might be marketing to Muslims in India
- A creative thinker – you’re brimming with ideas and not afraid of testing them and love working across different types of marketing activities, online to offline
- Someone confident with using data to make decisions, always asking “why are we doing this and how can we do it better”
- Ideally you reside in one of the following cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bangalore
Day to day
- You will be our point person for India – we’ll rely on you to understand and own the market, how we can grow there, and how we can improve our app
- You’ll lead our marketing team in India, and be responsible for growth of our user base in India through marketing efforts
- This means understanding what will work in India, and creating the strategy around our marketing efforts
- You’ll be running projects end to end – could be working with influencers on Monday, creating social and digital ad content on Wednesday, and planning events on Fridays
- Brainstorming new creative ideas and strategies to execute on to help grow your market
- Measuring effectiveness of marketing activities you run and drawing key learnings from them
- Talking to customers by putting together focus groups – getting their feedback on the ground, and understanding their app experience
- Negotiating with ad agencies to run large OOH and billboard campaigns
Requirements
- 6+ years marketing experience in India
- Fluent in written and spoken English, Urdu, Hindi
- Experience working in fast-pace consumer tech or consumer brands
- Experience leading marketing teams
- Must be able to travel once a month
- Strong data skills and able to evaluate success of marketing activity
- Proven track record showing you understand how brands can be effective IRL and online
- A strong understanding of Muslim culture and the Muslim scene in India – either lived or learned
- Good project management and communication skills. You’ll need to work with teams across multiple timezones
- You are based and authorised to work in the country without sponsorship from Muzz
