Why does the app tell me to widen my filters?

If you’re seeing a message asking you to widen your filters, it usually means you’ve already viewed everyone who matches your current search preferences.

Some filters also include a “Show me other profiles” option. When this is turned on, we’ll occasionally show you members who are just outside your selected preferences. This usually happens once you’ve seen everyone who matches your filters exactly. Rather than running out of profiles, we’ll show you people who match most, but not necessarily all, of your preferences, giving you more opportunities to connect.

If you’d prefer to only see members who meet your selected filters exactly, you can turn “Show me other profiles” off for the relevant filters.

However, the more specific your filters are, the smaller your pool of potential matches will be. Broadening them can help you discover more people you may not have seen before.

How to update your filters

1. Open the Marriage tab.
2. Tap the filter icon at the top of the screen.
3. Widen one or more of your filters, such as:
   • Age
   • Location
   • Ethnicity
   • Religiosity
   • Height
4. Close the filters to save your changes and continue browsing.
