Help & Support | why do-my-matches-expire

Why do my matches expire?

Any match where the other person hasn’t responded within 72 hours will automatically expire and be moved to your unmatched list. This will help you tidy your match list and prioritise those who are actively serious in finding their match.

Don’t worry, we’ll tell you when matches are about to expire if you haven’t already started a conversation with them!

To end ghosting for good, we needed to do two things:

Step 1 of the plan was introducing Chat Limits to help you focus on FIVE conversations, without the noise of endless browsing and infinite matches.

Step 2 is all about removing the same noise altogether. If no one’s speaking after a match, what’s the point? Ghosting and being unresponsive isn’t good for anyone.

Don’t worry, expired matches will be found in your unmatched list. You can request a rematch to see if they’re ready to reconnect with you.
