We’re looking for a Creative Lead for Southeast Asia to elevate our brand across Indonesia, Malaysia, and beyond. You’ll bring fresh, culturally resonant creative ideas and lead the charge in producing outstanding regional content, from big brand campaigns to everyday social moments.

As the Creative Lead for Southeast Asia, you will also oversee the end-to-end creative development and execution of brand and marketing initiatives across the region. You will be responsible for leading the creative direction, managing creative production workflows, and ensuring culturally relevant, high-quality content output for both online and offline activities. This role balances hands-on creative execution (especially in video and motion) with project management and team coordination. You’ll collaborate closely with regional marketers, creators, and the global brand team to bring our mission to life, one scroll-stopping idea at a time.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in creative production or art direction, either at an agency or as part of a fast-paced, in-house marketing team.
  • Strong command of English for professional communication, with Bahasa Indonesia or Malay as your first language.
  • Solid hands-on skills in at least one (ideally more!) of the following:

Video editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)

Motion design or animation (After Effects or similar tools)

Shooting and videography (camera handling, lighting, framing)

Graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator. Figma is a bonus)

 

  • A portfolio that shows a strong eye for storytelling, design, and integrated campaigns across digital platforms.
  • Someone who can balance creative thinking with practical execution, bringing bold ideas to life within real-world timelines and budgets.
  • Has experience managing groups of freelancers and creative team members.
  • Bonus: You understand Southeast Asian Muslim audiences, not just demographically, but emotionally and culturally.

You’re organised and structured, but can be flexible to the fast-paced environment of a startup like ours.

Day to day

  • Leading the creative development of local campaigns, from concept to final execution, across videos, social content, motion graphics, and event visuals.
  • Translating brand and campaign strategies into ideas that feel relevant and fresh in Indonesia, Malaysia, and beyond.
  • Jumping in hands-on when needed to shoot, edit, design, or animate content yourself.
  • Managing multiple creative projects at once, setting timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring everything is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Sourcing and managing a network of local creatives: videographers, editors, designers, animators, and more.
  • Managing 5 or more creatives working on different projects.
  • Briefing and reviewing work from freelancers, vendors, and agencies to ensure it meets our creative expectations and brand standards.
  • Working closely with regional marketers, the global brand team, and product stakeholders to make sure your work supports key business goals.
  • Adapting global campaigns for local audiences, while also making sure Southeast Asia’s creative voice is represented globally.
  • Reviewing content and providing clear, constructive feedback to keep our brand visuals consistent and top-notch.
  • Making sure everything we produce stays true to the Muzz brand while also pushing creative boundaries.
