Uninvited Wedding Guests & A Dress From Istanbul

You only need to find ‘the one’ once.

Tyler and Raziye had both been on the app for a while, but their experiences left much to be desired. They encountered the good and the bad, but never managed to find anything that felt right.

She sent the opening like, but he sent the first message.

Her profile stood out to him because of the amount of detail. She’d been so thorough in her approach to building it, that before they’d even spoken, he felt like he’d already had an insight into who she was.

They got to know each other a little bit before meeting up in person, but knew almost immediately that they wanted to get married. Their first encounter confirmed this beyond all doubt. They clicked immediately and felt as though they’d known each other for years, as soulmates often do.

From there, things moved quickly.

Knowing that marriage was their shared goal, they didn’t waste any time. So just a week after their first in-person meeting, Tyler met Raziye’s family, and the following month she met his. With the formalities out of the way, the door to the next step in their adventure swung open.

He proposed for the first time in her kitchen.

“I was so nervous I could barely get the words out”

Feeling that they both deserved a more conventionally romantic story to tell (though I’m sure the memory of getting down on one knee in that kitchen will be fondly remembered for the rest of their lives), he surprised her with a second proposal under the Christmas lights at Carnaby Street shortly after.

Of course, she said yes both times.

And so began the stressful affair of wedding planning. They opted for a simple, intimate ceremony rather than a grand event, but had a very clear vision in mind. So much so, that the meticulously chosen dress required collection all the way from Turkey. Naturally, they took a flight to Istanbul and back the same day to pick it up in time for the big day.

Exhausting as it may have been, the smile on her face on the day made it all worth it.

The celebration was memorable in itself for more than just the beauty of the occasion. The venue ended up charging them almost a thousand pounds more than originally quoted, and somehow a random ‘uncle’ found himself in the middle of the party without having been invited, prompting an awkward but amusing request for him to leave.

Nonetheless, the strangest memories are often the best.

The turbulence was overcome by their love for one another, and no doubt will help them prepare for whatever the future holds. Now a year into their marriage, their next adventure awaits with the arrival of their first child on the horizon!

Their story serves as yet another beautiful reminder that when two people are meant to find one another, Allah will find a way to make their paths cross – even if it takes the help of a halal marriage app like Muzz.
