An East African Marriage Tale
It all started with a gentle nudge from his family. “It was my sister who first encouraged me to join Muzz, but the first time I only lasted a week before deleting it.” Nothing had...
Every so often, a love story comes along to remind us that when you find a person who shares your unique vibe, everything else just falls into place. Nur and Farhan perfectly exemplify this common but beautiful trope.
Like many on Muzz, their journey began with a desire to find something meaningful in a world where pure connection is increasingly harder to come by. They had spoken with others, but something was always missing.
“Our journey & experience on Muzz was interesting, we did match a lot but no one met our expectations.”
It’s a familiar feeling for many; endlessly searching but never quite finding ‘the one’. Fortunately, the beauty of true love lies in the fact that you only need to get lucky once.
And little did she know, her person was about to make his entrance.
It wasn’t just a simple “hey” or “salaam” that caught her eye. It was a message that spoke directly to her passions and related to the profile she’d so carefully curated.
“His message included a reference to Anime and I knew I had to text him back.”
That shared interest was the spark that lit the flame.
The connection was immediate, effortless, and a sign of wonderful things to come. Ready to see if their online chemistry translated to real life, she suggested a first date idea that she had always dreamed of.
“We went to a cat cafe! When I told him about it, he immediately agreed with me. At that point, I knew he was probably the one,”
The date itself confirmed her feelings. All her nerves about potential awkwardness melted away and they spoke as though they’d known each other forever.
When You Know, You Know
The real confirmation came a few months later. It wasn’t about grand gestures, but about shared intentions and a desire for a future built on faith. They had only met for the first time in October, but by January he was ready to make it official.
“He wanted us to be halal as soon as possible,”
Above all though, his faith was reflected in his actions and character.
“I have one child. He didn’t question or judge me and treated my son as his own… now he’s 3 and calls him Papa”
With their hearts set on marriage, they approached their families. As many couples know, this step came with its own challenges, with people on both sides advising them to get engaged but wait a few years before officially settling. They, on the other hand, had their own ideas.
“Our plan was to get married by 2025”
Faced with conflicting timelines and the weight of expectation, they put their trust in Allah and their commitment to each other. In that faith, they found peace, and the strength to follow their own path in defiance of the outside noise.
“Did we manage to stick to our plan? Alhamdulillah we did… Now we’re almost a year in.”
When asked what advice they would give to others still on their journey, they had this to say:
“It does take time to find the right partner, there’s going to be ups & downs throughout the whole process. Just keep your trust in Allah.”
Their story is a beautiful reminder that the right person will not only embrace your passions, but every aspect of your being with open arms. Your other half is out there waiting, so give Muzz a try and help them find you faster.
