يا قَابِلَ تَوْبَتِي آدَمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا فَارِجَ كُرْبَ ذِي النُّونِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا جَامِعَ شَمْلِ يَعْقُوبَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا

 سَامِعَ دَعْوَةِ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا مُغِيثَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا رَافِعَ إِدْرِيسَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا مُجِيبَ دَعْوَةِ صَالِحِينَ فِي النَّاقَةِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا نَاصِرَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يا رَحْمَةَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَرَحْمَهُمَا صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ وَقَضِ حَاجَتَنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَأَطْلِ عُمْرَنَا فِي طَاعَتِكَ وَمَحَبَّتِكَ وَرِضَاكَ وَأَحْيِنَا حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً تُوَافِينَا عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ بِعِزِّ الْحَسَنِ وَأَخِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ وَجَدِّهِ وَبَنِيهِ فَرِّجْ عَنَّا مَا نَحْنُ فِيهِ.

O You who accepted the repentance of Adam on this day of Ashura. O You who delivered Jonah from his burden on this day of Ashura. O You who reunited Jacob (with his son) on this day of Ashura. O You who heard the plea of Moses and Aaron on this day of Ashura. O You who rescued Abraham from the fire on this day of Ashura. 

O You who raised Idris to heaven on this day of Ashura. O You who answered the plea of Saleh with a she-camel on this day of Ashura. O You who helped our Master Muhammad (the grace and peace of Allah be upon him) on this day of Ashura. O Merciful One in this lowly world and in the hereafter. O Compassionate One of the two abodes. 

Bestow your grace upon our Master Muhammad and upon the people of Muhammad, and upon all the prophets and all the messengers! And grant us our need in this life and in the hereafter, and grant us many years in Your obedience and Your love and Your pleasure! And return us to a life of purity and take us not (in death) except upon faith and submission by Your mercy, O You who is the most compassionate of all those who show compassion.

O Allah! By the honour of Hasan and of his brother, and that of his mother and that of his father, and by the honour of his Grandfather (Peace be upon him) and that of his children. Relieve us of what has befallen us!

Benefits of Dua e Ashura

Reciting Dua e Ashura holds immense significance in Islamic tradition, offering believers a multitude of spiritual benefits. It holds profound significance in Islamic culture, primarily commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain ibn Ali R.A and his companions at the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE. This event symbolizes the eternal struggle against oppression and tyranny, inspiring Muslims worldwide

to stand firm for justice and righteousness. Ashura fosters unity and solidarity among Muslims, encouraging reflection on moral principles and repentance for one’s actions.

For Sunni Muslims, it marks the victory of Prophet Moses (Musa) over Pharaoh as well as the day when Prophet Muhammad fasted in gratitude for that victory. Fasting on 10th Muharram

Fasting on the day of Ashura, the 10th day of the Islamic month of Muharram, holds significant importance in Islam. It is recommended but not mandatory for Muslims to fast on this day as it carries spiritual significance and historical relevance. 

Fasting on Ashura is observed to commemorate various events, including the day when Prophet Musa (Moses) and the Israelites were saved from Pharaoh’s tyranny by crossing the Red Sea, and when Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) fasted on this day in gratitude and remembrance. 

Additionally, fasting on Ashura is believed to expiate sins and bring blessings and rewards from Allah. Many Muslims observe this fast as an act of devotion, seeking spiritual purification and closeness to the Almighty.
