It all started with a simple message, as Muzz success stories often do.

Ayesha and Zach spoke for the first time in 2020 following two years of infrequent app use where they just couldn’t find what they were looking for.

Zach: “I sent the first message, told her how great she was, how great her profile was”. With a smile, she responds “Yeah… you messaged me and you said you really liked my profile”.

Kept apart by lockdown restrictions, with Zach living in London and Ayesha in Luton, their early relationship was characterised by long talks on the phone where they were able to ask all of the important stuff.

After just a few calls, they felt connected, as though they had known each other far longer than the short time that they had been in touch.

Zach: “it was good because we had so many of those difficult conversations…all the ice-breaking was done by the time we actually met in person.“

When they finally had their first date over two months later, everything finally fell into place. They both knew that they had found ‘The One’.

“I had enjoyed talking to you so much that by the time I met you, I’m not gonna lie, I was like, already in love.” Ayesha says with a giggle (crying on my keyboard btw).

All of those hours spent getting to know one another and asking the tough questions planted the seeds that would form the foundation of a long, happy marriage, Insha’Allah.

The very next day, Zach asked the big question… no, not that one.

“I was asking you… shall we involve the parents, how quickly can we do that?“

Surprised at the speed, but refreshed by his confidence and sincerity, she agreed. The following afternoon, their mums had a phone call, and before long the whole family were making plans to meet.

Ayesha: “what really cemented it for me was the moment that our families met because that was super important for both of us”, Zach nods in agreement, “when I saw our families getting along and laughing together… how you were also interacting with your family…it strengthened my wanting to pursue and marry you.“

Before long, they were gathered in Ayesha’s house for their engagement ceremony and the rest is history…
